summer, storms, and school

hey everyone! we have been pretty bad about blogging lately. sorry about that! anyway, summer has been pretty good i guess. in June school ended. i had graduation from eighth grade! yay! i made honor roll last marking period, which was pretty good. Also, i got the art award! to be honest I'm not sure how this happened, my art skills are not really the best. other than that we haven't really done much. we have hung out with friends a lot and took a few trips to ocean city. however, there has been some excitement going on in Clark. first, there was an earthquake last week! as most of you probably know, this does not usually happen. although it was a small one a really no damage was done. most of us couldn't even feel it! then, two days hurricane Irene came. our house made it through the hurricane with really no problems. around the house large branches and stuff came down but did not damage the house thankfully. however, because we are currently getting our patio redone, it was extremely muddy. other than that we did pretty good. there are been some pretty major flooding in our town. but a large amount of it has already been taken care of. the worst was yesterday morning. also even though we did not suffer any damage to the house, we did have some problems. the power in most of my neighborhood wet out. it went out around four thirty yesterday evening. when we called public services they first said it should be back by eight that night. but as it got later and later, we called again. they said possibly not until September 4! luckily this was not the case, the power came back on around 6 p.m. today. it was still quite a while without power! i am definitely much more thankful now for electricity and cable and Internet connection! i am very grateful our power returned because parts of Clark my go a few more days without it unfortunately. other than that not much has been going on. i start school next Tuesday. i was suppose to have orientation tomorrow, but due to the storm it was cancelled. this is not good. at orientation, students are shown where all their classes will be. and, because all our classes are in five different schools, i will most likely get very lost. well, isn't high school turning out to be just lovely? i will try to do some more blogging soon! i miss everyone and hope to see you all soon!

p.s. congrats andie on getting married!!!
